Tout récemment lancé, le projet de Brian Joseph David, co-fondateur du site Joyland permet de visualiser en portraits robots les visages de tous les personnages romanesques en utilisant les descriptions données dans les livres.

 

Le résultat est pour le moins aussi époustouflant qu'ébouriffant, d'autant que la suggestion d'un personnage est gratuite et simple. Il suffit en effet de soumettre sur le site The Composites le passage où la description physique du personnage est la plus explicite.

 

Seule limite, le site ne fonctionne qu'en anglais, ce qui ne manquera de hérisser le poil des puristes devant la contrainte à traduire Madame Bovary en anglais. Reste que le résultat vaut plutôt le coup :

And this was my case…But instead I am lanky, big-boned, wooly-chested Humbert Humbert, with thick black eyebrows…A cesspoolful of rotting monsters behind his slow boyish smile…aging ape eyes…Humbert's face might twitch with neuralgia.
