Ce livre, le deuxième de la collection "Dans la règle de l'art" , est un commentaire libre du tableau de l'artiste russe Maxim Kantor, conservé aujourd'hui dans le Musée National d'Histoire et d'Art de Luxembourg, après avoir été exposé à côté du Jugement dernier de Bosch, en 2018, à Vienne. Commentaire libre qui débouche sur une véritable méditation théologique, car ce tableau se plaît à dire que le quotidien est éminemment eschatologique. Chaque instant relève de l'éternité. En prenant donc l'inspiration du Jugement dernier représenté par Maxim Kantor comme une scène vespérale et familiale, Alberto Fabio Ambrosio, en tant que théologien, glose ce tableau jusqu'au dernier détail.

Ma pauvre chambre de l'imagination. Kantor par lui-même
J'aimerais me concentrer sur le courant qui mène du théâtre zéro, à travers le happening et le théâtre impossible, vers le théâtre de la mort. Chacune de ces étapes est importante. Et si je revendique les valeurs que j'ai découvertes, je me garde de traiter ce fait en mégalomane et de considérer que je suis seul à avoir montré la voie car c'est quelque chose qui, dans l'art, ne se produit pas. Découvrir ! - cela se passe comme dans la science. Ce volume se propose de constituer une introduction à la vie et à l'oeuvre de Kantor à travers les mots mêmes de celui qui aura durablement marqué l'art de son siècle.
